Report: CEO of Aeroflot says mass airline bankruptcies possible

MOSCOW, Oct 28 (PRIME) – Many Russian airlines can go bankrupt because of the pandemic, CEO of  flagship air carrier Aeroflot Vitaly Savelyev told channel Rossiya 24 on Wednesday.

"If the airlines reсredit, they will survive, of course. But whether they will make it to the better future at the end of November is a question,” Savelyev said.

“If they permit us to fly, we will possibly recover in half a year. Not only Aeroflot, but the other companies as well, I think. If they do not, this will be a big question. Some decisions will have to be made."

He also said that companies usually bear most losses in October–November, and the low tourist season usually lasts from October till April.
